Sue Connor has been attending Stockton Learning and Skills Service for the past 18 months, studying for her Functional Skills certificate alongside working towards her NVQ in Health and Social Care.
Sue admits that before starting the course she wasn’t a confident learner and was apprehensive about starting. Sue explains: “It was very strange being in a classroom after all these years.
Studying at Stockton Learning and Skills however didn’t feel like being back at school. There was no peer pressure and the tutor provided a relaxed and friendly atmosphere I could learn in.
With great guidance and patience from my tutor, I have eventually passed both my Maths and English Functional Skills. This has now helped me not only at work but also in my private life too.”
