Stockton Learning and Skills service offers Level 1, 2 and 3 certificates in Community Interpreting. The Level 3 certificate in Community Interpreting enables learners who already have a high level of language skills in both their first language and English to undertake interpreting work at a basic level.
Topics you'll study include:
- Developing your performance as a community interpreter.
- Working as a community interpreter in public services.
- Supporting interpreting through sight translation.
- Interpret two-way.
- Planning to work as a community interpreter within a choice of sectors, including educational settings, the health service and immigration.
*You must complete the Introduction to Community Interpreting Professionals Studies course before applying for the Level 3 Professional Practice Programme for Community Interpreting course.

Community Interpreting level 3
Community Interpreting
Level 3 is a licence to practice as a professional interpreter. You will learn interpreting skills to work in a variety of community settings.
The aims of the qualification are to enable learners:

2 To learn about the sectors where interpreters may be required to work
3 To develop and practise sight translation
