Overview

Introduction to British Sign Language course is designed to provide learners with a foundational understanding of British Sign Language, its history, basic communication skills, and cultural context. This course aims to enable individuals to communicate effectively with the Deaf community in the United Kingdom and gain insight into Deaf culture. 

During this course, you will cover the following:

Session 1 – Alphabet – finger spelling, everyday greetings and signs, common signs

Session 2 – Numbers 1-10, asking/answering questions, describing friends and family, colours, personalities and moods

Session 3 – Days of the week/months of the year, weather, signs appropriate to settings, hobbies and interests.
