HOUSING SUPPORT APPRENTICE

Overview

This role will provide a range of administration support to assist the Homelessness and Housing Solutions Team in delivering an efficient and effective service providing a rapid response to the residents of the borough who are experiencing housing issues. You will learn to communicating directly with members of the public, ensure information is correctly inputted on IT systems, and respond to requests from the team for administration assistance on a variety of tasks.

Apprenticeship Summary

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To assist in providing an efficient and effective administration and support service
    to the Homelessness and Housing Solutions team
  • To assist in providing a responsive front-line initial advice service to residents of
    the Borough.
  • To assist in the preparation of:
    • Reports
    • Performance monitoring information including both statutory returns and
    team management information (Business Improvement Plan)
    • Financial information.
  • To ensure data is recorded accurately:
    • Support the accurate payment of services
    • To maximise income collection
    • To fulfil statutory and performance management requirements.
  • To liaise with colleagues and agencies internal and external to the Fairer
    Stockton On Tees & Housing Service as required.
  • To attend meetings and working parties as required to support the Housing Service and ensure effective communication (through a
    variety of mechanisms) to the public, internal colleagues and partner agencies
    and organisations
  • To participate in the development of team targets, performance indicators and
    service objectives.
  • To assist promotion of change and continued forward development and
    improvement of all aspects of the services work.

Wage/Working Week

Annual Wage - National Minimum Wage for Age

Expected Duration - Fixed Term Up to 18 months

You will have a workplace mentor who will provide you with training in your everyday job along with information advice and guidance. You will have an assessor who will visit you in the workplace to observe you working and discuss the way you are working. You will spend 20% of your time in "off the job training" where you will attending lessons at Stockton learning and Skills in Billingham. This is where you will work towards a Level 3 Business administration qualification.

GCSE or equivalent English, Maths and ICT (Grade 5 or above (or equivalent)) Desirable.

This role would be subject to an enhance DBS check.
