Supports QSSHE (Quality, Safety, Security, Health & Environment) team in all areas requiring administration. Development role to advance skills and knowledge with a view for internal progression within the department.

Apprenticeship Summary

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for one’s own, co-worker’s and stakeholder’s health, safety and quality.  First Aider, Mental Health First Aider & Fire Warden responsibilities across the Stokesley offices
  • Ensure stock of required PPE to ensure employee’s safety whilst on off site visits
  • Ensure that all documents, policies and procedures are valid and up to date and filed accordingly within the QMS
  • Assist the QSSHE Manager from an administrative perspective across all areas required within the department
  • Responsible for setting up new suppliers across all modes of transport and depot activities
  • Collecting necessary information & documentation from all suppliers and ensuring the matrices are kept fully updated and live
  • Ensure the organisation are always aware of the up to date list
  • Ensure maintenance of said matrices is carried out on a regular periodic basis
  • Highlight concerns at an early stage within the process to the management team
  • Responsible for internal, office-based RAs along with external RAs associated with all aspects of the business
  • Ensure maintenance of said RAs is carried out on a regular periodic basis
  • Highlight concerns at an early stage within the process to the management team
  • Chair the safety team meetings on a regular periodic basis and ensure the full security of both buildings


Wage/Working Week

  • Weekly wage - £124.50
  • Working week - Shifts to be confirmed - Total hours per week: 30.00
  • Expected duration - 15 months

You will receive regular training and guidance form your work place mentor. You will also work towards achieving a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship which also includes English and maths Functional Skills although you may be exempt from the Functional Skills depending on your previous qualifications.

You will spend 80% of your time working for the employer and 20% of your time in off the job training, this will mostly take place at Stockton Council Learning & Skills in Billingham.

You will have lots of support and many opportunities to develop an succeed.

Desired qualifications

  • English Language and maths at GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) would be an advantage. Must be willing and able to pass Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths if required
  • An ICT qualification would also be an advantage
